Throwing him in there with little explanation just, really didn’t work. (Everyone thinks he’s a spaz, and a jerk who’s out to expose everyone’s identity. But YJ… They left out the huge chunk of info that OH HE WAS RAISED IN A VR AND DOESN’T KNOW WHAT CONSEQUENCES ARE DURRHUURRR. 

I mean, did his weird accelerated growth thing just… Not happen? Then WHY IS HE SO IMPULSIVE!? IT. NO. JUST NO. 

Also if he wasn’t from 1000 years in the future, that pretty much eliminates ANY chance of Jenni existing in that universe. She wouldn’t be drafted from Aarok for Legion duty, and would never become a Legionnaire and meet Bart in the first place after the whole emerald eye displacement bit. 

And Bart would have never been the cutest buddies with the Legionnaires in general? Which… fjkafksdlf. 

YOU DON’T JUST IGNORE FRIENDSHIPS THAT CUTE. (plus the whole issue, he was just asking about Jenni and where she was and fjkafhdsjakf it was great. And then LoSH 88 was equally adorable, with Bart getting them kicked out of labs and. and ugh.) 

….well that just turned into a regular old YJ rant, didn’t it. 

But yeah. Everyone is just… So gone. I only have one or two of my original rp partners still active.

Is it just that hiatus-y time of year? Is this normal? Did the n52 just make everyone ragequit everything? I don’t understand.))

((Hm. I really feel like this account really isn’t going anywhere. Just. First off, none of the dcu rp community seems to know what the Legion even is. Second, even in the Legion, and in the speedster side of things, Jenni isn’t super duper prominent. 

(Well, in the E-247 Legion she was a main character, and basically the savior of everything ever, because of the Blight Arc, but yeah okay.) 

And with all the YJverse Barts running around, barely any of them know who she is either. Which, this really limits the amount of not-crazy-whatisthisinteractionwhyaretheyeventhere kind of RPs I can have.

“That’s right,” Thad raised an eyebrow rather curious how she knew his name. If she knew that he wondered how much more she could know. Lying was certainly not going to cut it with this girl. Oh well, at least he didn’t have to keep the charade of being pleasant up. Oh, how he hated that.

“Oh, a Legionnaire. So you’re from the future,” Thad’s fake smile quickly turned back to his usual frown. Glaring back at her he responded, “I suggest you look at your files again. You’re more than likely missing some important information. Though who knows maybe it hasn’t happened yet?” he shrugged keeping up with time lines was rather hard even for him sometime.

“And you’d be wise to stay out of my way and out of my business. I’ll converse with Bart if I wish to.”

“Then you, are an idiot.” She snorted, dropping back to her heels. Crossing her arms and tapping her foot incessantly. What kinds of words would Gates use to describe this guy? Contemptuous, maybe? Yeah. This guy was pretty contemptuous. Acting like he was. She was looking out for her cousin. This guy was an identity theif, a pest, and… and… 

Ahem. Anyways, this guy didn’t seem to live up to his criminal record. He didn’t even look like he could run that fast!

“Thaddeus Thawne, I’m guessing?” She clicked her tongue, looking him over. This was the runt that antagonized her cousin? That had to be some sort of mistake! He looked kind of… Out of it? Weird. More than weird. Super duper weird. He smelled like a trashcan, too. Gross. 

“Uhm… Hi? I guess?” She kept her hands to herself, rocking a bit on her heels. “Jenni Ognats. Legionnaire. I’ve read about you in the history files, before.” With that, she snapped onto her toes, glaring in his face. “You’d be wise to keep your distance from my cousin.”

“Pff, haha! Bart, what are you doing!?” She squeals, laughing, as she tries to shove his head away from her face.

It’s great to have family that understood him back.

Great to have someone that was related him, and whole-hardheartedly get him.

He can’t stop smiling, it’s too hard, too stupid not to be smiling in this moment. Bart’s listening to every jumbled word that whooshes out of her mouth in a jitter, nodding his head to each story, each miniscule detail, and smiling, smiling, smiling. Teeming in place at Jenni’s adventures. and he tries to open his mouth to speak, but that’s kinda hard because he forgot how it felt to be swept up into a whirl wind.

His mouth closes with a sharp clack, an even goofier smile filling his lips and he just shakes his head when she asks him about her ex-boyfriend. And he wishes, he did, he wishes he did so much because he feels like he’s missed out on so much. Bart loves his life, loves everything that he is not, but it’s the adventure that drives him, and that is missing from his life as of now.

But that’s cut off too because Jenni’s words are echoing and bouncing in his hears and Bart swears that his brain is reverberating at her startled exclamation. He takes in this big gusty inhale, and let’s it puff out in a dreamy sigh, half snort.

‘Heh—-yeahm’datinThad—weird right? But he’sreallycoolandawesomeandgrife—he’s the—’ Now how could Bart possibly sum a 6 month story in just one word, how could he describe Thad in just word? He’s pushes dainty curls from golden eyes kinda shyly, and he feels the heat catching in his cheeks.

‘—the best—Thad’sthebest.’

“OhI’msurehehastobethen! Ohman-howdidthatstartanyways? Mustbeareallyreallyinterestingstory! Youhavetointroducemetohimsoon!” 

Everything else he might have said just flew right over her head. This was something, wasn’t it! Being with his clone? Would that be considered narcissism, or…? It didn’t matter to her, really. Bart looked just as- if not happier than he had been, after the mention of Thad. If Bart was content, Jenni couldn’t be more than ecstatic. Bart hadn’t been one to dabble in romance, as far as she remembered. Playing it off as ‘full of cooties’ or ‘something that cut into his video game time’. So this was more than interesting. 

And if anything, a real reminder of how long it had been. 

She flashed another huge grin, tugging him into a tight hug. “Onanothernote, didn’tyoumentionyouwantedthis?” She then sputtered, breaking off the embrace and fishing around in her belt pouch. A pico-second later, and she was waving a holochip excitedly in his face. “Youcomplainedalotaboutwantingtomakeinterlacpotpies,butneverrememberinghowto! SoIrippedthisoutofTenzil’srecipeholosagesago! I’vebeencarryingitaroundsince. Sorryiftherearesomeoilandplantjuicestainsonit- ItlivedthroughtheBlightandtheRoboticainvasion.”
